Amaury Triaud: I Don’t Want People to Believe. I Want People to Think.

Amaury Triaud is a senior researcher at the Institute of Astronomy at the University of Birmingham in England and a member of the team who excited the world with its discovery of a solar system a mere 39 light years from earth. With seven earth-sized planets orbiting a nearby star called Trappist-1, the discovery raises hopes that the hunt for life beyond our solar system can start sooner than expected. A search that will be all the more intense as the next generation of telescopes is due to switch on in the next decade.
