Kees Moeliker

Kees Moeliker, curator at the Natural History Museum in Rotterdam, has a keen eye for strange bird behavior. He was the first to witness a case of homosexual necrophilia in ducks. This earned him the Ig Nobel biology prize, the award that honors “research that first makes you laugh, then makes you think.”

Kees Moeliker shows that curiosity and humor can be powerful tools for scientists or anyone trying to explain complex things.
