Bryan Stevenson

Hailing from Montgomery, Alabama, Bryan Stevenson is widely acclaimed as one of the most effective public service lawyers in America. A Harvard Law School graduate, he has devoted his life to helping the poor, the incarcerated and the condemned. Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Desmond Tutu describes him as “America’s young Nelson Mandela, a brilliant lawyer fighting with courage and conviction to guarantee justice for all.”

Bryan Stevenson founded the Equal Justice Initiative and has been largely responsible for reversals or reduced sentences in over 65 death penalty cases.
