When a Japanese pharmaceutical company paid USD 95 million to license her research on rheumatoid arthritis and autoimmune diseases – with potential for billions in revenue and the biggest medical license deal ever in Norway – her peers finally recognized her thinking. But her driving force was not the money, it was much more personal.
